Inhibitory Effect of Acanthopanax Senticosus Whole Plant on Mast Cell-Dependent Anaphylaxis

Abstract

|
The effect of Acanthopanax senticosus(ACS) whole plant on mast cell-dependent anaphylaxis has been studied. ACS inhibited by 50% compound 48/80-induced systemic anaphylaxis at a dose of 1.0 g/kg. ACS had an inhibitory effect up to about 33.9% on anti-dinitrophenyl IgE-induced tumor necrosis factor-ct production from mast cells. ACS also inhibited passive cutaneous anaphylaxis reaction and histamine release from mast cells in a dose-dependent manner. These results indicate that ACS inhibits mast cell-mediated anaphylaxis in vivo and in vitro murine model.
